Direct Service Workforce Investment Grant 2023

In November 2022, the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) announced a grant opportunity called the Direct Service Workforce Investment Grant to support the direct services workforce. This grant is available to providers who were active during the 2022 fiscal year (July 1, 2021-June 30, 2022) and provide any of the following services:

Attendant Care (including Self-Directed Attendant Care)

Community/Day Habilitation*

Extended Services*

Facility Based Supports

Facility Habilitation

Home Health Services

Homemaker

Participant Assistance and Care*

Pre Vocational
-
Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE)

Residential Habilitation and Support (Hourly & Daily)*

Respite Care*
-
Structured Family Caregiving
-
Waiver Transportation*
-
Workplace Assistance
*Services provided by Sky Point Social Services, LLC.
FSSA defines a Direct Service Worker as a person who provides hands-on care and direct support to individuals receiving services as listed above. For Sky Point Social Services, LLC. this would only be Direct Support Professionals.
Sky Point Social Services, LLC. anticipates receiving this grant in 3 installments, commencing in January 2023, spring 2023, and summer 2023. This grant requires that 95% of the funds of the grant be given to direct service workers in forms of employee retention matters as best determined by the provider. Sky Point Social Services, LLC. is unaware at this time of the amount that will be awarded but will be allocating the required amount of funds to Direct Support Professionals in alignment with grant requirements.
